A big HELLO to all my lovely clients. I have a very bittersweet announcement. My family and I have been dreaming about relocating to the Nashville, Tennessee area for 7 years. It is finally all falling into place and we will be leaving sunny SoCal mid-october.
So what does that mean for Me+3 Photography?? Well, I'll be honest, I've spent so many years building up such a big group of phenomenal, loyal clients that I don't want to say good-bye. So I'm not gonna...you can't make me.... Yes, I just pitched a tiny fit. Let me explain how things are changing, but also how I plan on continuing my business in California as well. For this year's holiday mini sessions, I will be loading up my September, doing a few in the beginning of October, as well as making myself available for weekday sessions. Selfishly, I just want to see all your smiling faces before we take off! I also have 2 weekends scheduled in November to come back. All the dates, locations, and available spots will be on the website. http://www.meplusthreephotography.com/mini-sessions What about the future, looking past the holiday mini sessions?? Well...that will undoubtably look different as well. I love love love that I get to see so many of you as often as I do. I do NOT take it for granted that I've been considered "your family photographer" for so many years. I tell people all the time--It's an absolute honor to meet someone for a maternity session, then get to do the newborn session, a 3 month session, your christmas cards pics, first birthday party, and then be recommended for a friend's wedding, thus starting cycle again. There's just no words to express my gratitude. So let me say it loud and clear:: I STILL WANT TO BE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER!! I have every intention of coming back for sessions when possible. I already have shoots planned in January and March. Of course, I realize that it's not always going to work out for me to do every session that I would normally be able to take. That's hard to admit, but it comes with this transition. <<sniff sniff>> With all that said, don't hesitate to contact me. Let me know ahead of time when your little one is turning another year older and you want new portraits. I definitely still want to do weddings here. If you're expecting, let me know the due date. Chances are, there will already be a business trip in the works. I'd love to be able to see you while I'm here and be able to work with you! I just need to know in advance so I can load up my business trips with sessions. This brings me to the next bit of business. Earlier this year, before Tennessee was even an option, I had decided that I would be raising my prices when it came time for holiday season. I pride myself on being affordable. I do not believe that professional photography should be a luxury item that you can only afford every couple years. I am about half of what industry standards are and I want to maintain a professional reputation by continuing to grow my business. And as life happens, this is just serendipitous timing as the new rates will help with the plane fares to come "home". Starting in October, mini sessions will be $95. Full sessions will start at $175 (Groups of 8 or more will be $225). Newborns will be $225. Weddings start at $1800. So there's LOTS of reasons to book a mini session in September! Come see me, say hi and bye, and take advantage of minis for $65. Keep in contact, keep me posted. I hope to see as many of you as possible before we move! Much love and big HUGS to everyone!!! ~Laurinda

I wish I had my own little social media secretary that could share sessions or post to instagram for me. Good news is, my lovely clients keep me busy enough that there is just no way to post everything that I want to.
This wedding was from last year but I've been promising a blog post dedicated to the lovely M&K. Happy 6 months anniversary! <3 Weddings are special - hands down - no matter what! What I have discovered by taking photos at a wedding is that I am given this extreme privilege of going behind-the-scenes and actually experiencing those special moments first hand. The stories I hear bring me close to tears at time. I almost have to pinch myself to keep from turning into a sappy girl that just wants to sit and watch the magic happen. After all, I have a job to do! These were some of the sweetest people I've ever met. And the setting was straight out of a fairy tale! When you're given a mansion in the mountains to take photos at, you make the most of it! Pretty dreamy, huh? The way she looks at him says it ALL! They waited a long time for this kiss! From the mansion to the mountainside, it was breathtaking. The evening setting was amazing! Congratulations you 2 lovebirds!
I have been taking photos for this incredible family for years now. So when one of the siblings got engaged, I was “given” as a gift. During the engagement session, I was asked to consider taking their wedding photos. While it was not something I had ever planned on doing, I was beyond honored and happily accepted. K&K — MANY MANY Blessings on your marriage. Y’all know how much I love you. You guys are my fam! The First Look
The time has come. Me+3 Photography has brought me more excitement, professional fulfillment, and personal growth than I ever imagined. I have been honored to capture so many memories for so many dear friends, not to mention make a bunch of new ones. How? That is a question I get a lot. How did you get "into this"? Well, I have always been "that" friend with their camera around their neck, snapping pictures at every occasion, and making detailed scrapbooks to document it all. So when I was asked to take pictures of a dear friend before she had her baby, I wondered, "hmm...why am I not DOING this!?" and it's been go go go ever since. 3? What the heck is the PLUS 3 about? Well....this is my plus 3! Since starting my photography business, we have added 1 more. But for now, we still professionally remain +3. It's a wonderful nod to where I was in my life when this whole adventure started.
In an effort to continue growing, it was time to build this website and blog. Come on in, stay a while, enjoy browsing through some of my most favorite moments from the past several years. And the next time you start thinking that it's time for some new photos, I would LOVE to be there with you. |
